Millar keys The Master’s victory (Basketball)
After holding the lead mostly all night, The Master’s College was in jeopardy of coughing it up.
But Anchorage’s Thomas Millar wasn’t having it.
With 55 seconds left and his team nursing a 68-67 lead over Pt. Loma Nazarene, the 6-foot-4 senior made arguably the biggest play of Saturday’s NAIA game after he sank two free throws off an offensive rebound in a 74-71 win.
Millar, of Heritage Christian fame, finished with six points (all from the line) and six rebounds. He also had one assist, one steal and no turnovers in 36 minutes.
Fellow Alaskan Leif Karlberg pumped in four 3-pointers for 12 points.
