Bell-Holter scores career high 18 (Basketball)
Hydaburg’s Damen Bell-Holter was feeling it tonight. In fact, he made more 3-pointers against the University of Utah than he did all of last season.
The 6-foot-9 sophomore swingman sank 3 of 6 from long range on his way to scoring a career-high 18 points to help Oral Roberts University prevail 78-70 on the road.
Bell-Holter, of Ketchikan High fame, made 6 of 11 shots from the field in 30 minutes. He also went 3 for 5 from the foul line.
The former Alaska all-state prep player shined from the perimeter and owned the post, grabbing 7 rebounds and blocking 3 shots.
Bell-Holter is expected to play well inside game but the perimeter game was a bonus.
He had yet to shoot a 3-pointer this season before tonight and he connected on just 2 of 17 attempts in 33 games last season.
His previous career high for points was 10, set earlier this season.
Bell-Holter is averaging 9.6 points per game through five games.
