Kauffman nets 17 in season-high 32 minutes for Adams State in Colorado

Justin Kaufman BasketballAnchorage’s Justin Kauffman of Adams State University notched his second-highest scoring night and played a season-high 32 minutes in an 86-74 win over Chadron State in Colorado.

The 6-foot-2 reserve guard finished with 17 points after making 4-of-8 field goals and all six free throws.

This was his fourth game in double figures, led by a career-high 27 he had in the season opener.

Kauffman, of West High fame, made 3-of-6 3-pointers and is shooting 37 percent on the season.

He leads the team with a .839 free-throw percentage and ranks 11th in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. Each time he’s been in double figures it’s been because he’s gotten to the foul line.

Kauffman is averaging 10.8 points and 3.8 rebounds in eight games.
