Colter Lasher BasketballIt used to be that college sophomores hit the wall, but Houston Baptist University forward Colter Lasher of Anchorage has knocked it down.

He’s reached double figures in 10 of 15 games this season and he’s among the league leaders with a .512 shooting percentage.

The 6-foot-7 sophomore made 7-of-12 shots as he scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a 74-73 win over New Orleans in Texas. That’s the second-most points and rebounds he’s had in his college career.

Lasher, of Dimond High fame, is putting up 11.4 points and 4.1 rebounds a game.

In his last two games, though, he’s bumped those averages up to 16 and 8 while shooting 59 percent.
