Juneau’s Jackson Lehnhart earned a huge honor recently when he was selected to the NCAA D3 All-America Team by D3soccer.com from a field of nearly 500 nominations.

The Amherst College senior defender finished the season with five goals and three assists for 13 points in 19 games.

He scored on his final shot of his college career in a shootout loss during the national tournament.

Also for the 2016 season he was named second team all-conference and first team All-New England Region honors from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America.

Lehnhart, of Juneau-Douglas High fame, started 39 of his final 40 games and led to the 2015 national championship with a 2-1 victory that was spurned by his tying goal in the first half.

In 60 career games, he posted 6-9–21 totals as center back, a defense-minded position where his job was to prevent goals, not score them.
