Lasher nets career-high 28, surpasses 1,200 for college career
Anchorage’s Colter Lasher matched his career-high of 28 points to lead Houston Baptist to a 94-80 victory over Southland Conference No. 2 Texas A&M Corpus Christi in Houston, Texas.
With the win, Houston Baptist extended its eight-game win streak and assured itself of a first-round bye in the Southland Conference tournament while keeping alive the possibility of a tie for the regular-season championship and a two-round bye in the tournament.
Lasher, of Dimond High fame, converted 8-of-18 field goals, including 6-of-9 from 3-point land. The rest of his team went 1-of-7 from deep.
He’s currently ninth in the Southland with a 15.3-point scoring average in 28 games.
The 6-foot-7 senior is also fourth in the conference with a .862 free-throw percentage and ninth with a .360 3-point percentage.
Lasher now has 1,201 career points – just the ninth Alaska men’s basketball player to surpass the 1,200 mark at the NCAA D1 level.
