It took him a few weeks to get his footing, but now freshman James Curro has kicked it into high gear for the Pacific University men’s soccer team.

The freshman forward netted points in back-to-back games to help the Boxers post consecutive wins for the first time this season.

Curro, of Dimond High fame, collected his first college point with an assist in a 3-1 win over Multnomah.

The next game he bagged his first career goal in a 3-2 win over Whitworth.

The following game he earned his first start but went scoreless in 49 minutes.

Curro was a two-time Gatorade Alaska Player of the Year finalist in high school.
