No school records this time, but Dubuque University quarterback Conor Feckley of Anchorage did pick up where he left off last season with a big day in the season opener.

The senior quarterback completed 29-of-65 pass attempts for 337 yards and three touchdowns in a 32-26 victory over Bethel University in double overtime in Arden Hills, Minnesota.

It wasn’t quite the 70-53 shootout of last year’s meeting when Feckley threw for a school-record 634 yards and 8 touchdowns – with his yardage total ranking No. 5 all-time in NCAA D3 history.

That performance propelled him to 37 TDs on the season – the third most in the nation; his 3,129 passing yards ranked 14th.

Feckley, of West High fame, tossed scoring strikes of 24, 21 and 38 yards, with his final one tying the game at 23-23 in the fourth quarter.

His 10-yard pass in the first overtime was good for a first down and led to a field goal that extended the lead.

In the second overtime, he scampered for 10 yards for another first down on a drive that led to the go-ahead score.
