The Pima Community College men’s basketball team was pretty good when Jeremiah Bailey of Fairbanks was coming off the bench.

But the JC team has been unbeatable with him as a starter.

The third-ranked Pima Aztecs are 9-0 since the freshman from Alaska was added to the starting lineup.

It’s no accident, either.

The 6-foot-6 forward ranks among the team leaders in points, rebounds and blocked shots as Pima has won 14 of 15 games to start the NJCAA season.

Bailey, of Monroe Catholic High fame, owns three double-doubles and averages 10.2 points, 9.2 rebounds and 1.7 blocked shots per game.

His game highs this season are 19 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks.

Bailey leads Pima in rebounding average with a total of 119, including 45 on the offensive end. He also leads the Aztecs with 15 blocks.
