Northern Illinois senior Scooter Bynum of Fairbanks didn’t get a base hit in the first game of the series, but he did just about everything else.

The center fielder drew three walks, scored two runs, had an RBI and stole a base as Northern Illinois beat Central Arkansas 6-3 in Conway, Arkansas.

He walked and scored in the second inning, plated a run with a sacrifice bunt in the fifth and walked and scored in the ninth.

Bynum, of Monroe Catholic High fame, is hitting .300 in the first three games.

The Alaskan was named a preseason Mid-American Conference all-star in the outfield and is expected to continue to play an integral part in the lineup as an everyday player.
