Anchorage’s Taria Page proved once again why a prolific player of her significance doesn’t come around very often.

The Louisiana Tech University junior slugger joined VIP status with her 100th career RBI after smashing a run-scoring single in the sixth inning of a 9-4 road win in NCAA D1 play over the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Page is the 10th LaTech player and second Alaskan in school history to reach the century mark in RBIs. Anchorage’s Pauline Tufi is also on the list.

Page, of East High fame, bats cleanup and leads the team with 27 RBIs this season.

She also leads LaTech with five home runs and is fourth with a .402 on-base percentage in 36 games.

Page had 41 RBIs in 2017 and 32 in 2016.
