Hepa leads Team USA in offensive boards at Americas U18

Kamaka Hepa of Utqiagvik enjoyed his most productive game for the Team USA U18 men’s national team at the FIBA Americas U18 Championship in Ontario, Canada.

The 6-foot-9 forward bagged eight points, six rebounds, one assist and one blocked shot as the Americans ran away with a 132-55 blowout win over Ecuador in the quarterfinals.

Team USA (4-0) advanced to the semifinals and will play Argentina (3-1).

Hepa, of Barrow High fame, leads Team USA with 12 offensive rebounds, the third-highest total in the tournament.

The University of Texas signee is second on the team with 25 rebounds and is averaging 6.3 boards in just 12.3 minutes.

He’s also tied for third on Team USA with three blocked shots.

Hepa has scored 18 points in four games for an average of 4.5 per game.
