Colter Lasher of Anchorage is doing everything he can to keep the Geraldton Buccaneers in the championship conversation in Australia’s State Basketball League.

The rookie forward leads the team in scoring and rebounding as it sits No. 2 in the league at 14-3, one game out of first place, with five games left before the playoffs.

Geraldton’s last regular-season title came in 2014 and the team’s last SBL championship came in 2000.

Lasher is hoping to add some new hardware to the Bucs’ trophy case.

The 6-foot-7 Alaskan is averaging 21.5 points and 8.5 rebounds in 17 games.

He owns six double-doubles with season highs of 35 points and 13 rebounds.

Lasher, of Dimond High fame, collected 19 points and eight rebounds in an 88-80 win over first-place Joondalup, handing the league leaders its first loss at home this season.
