Homza makes a habit of reaching base in playoffs for Pilgrims

Willy Homza of Anchorage got a couple base hits and scored a run for the Plymouth Pilgrims in Game 2 of his team’s playoff series in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

He played the whole game at shortstop, hit sixth in the lineup and went 2-for-5 in an 8-5 loss to the Ocean State Waves at Old Mountain Field in South Kingstown, Rhode Island.

Homza, of South High fame, drew three walks in a Game 1 loss and is rocking a .500 on-base percentage in two playoff games.

During the regular season, the infielder hit .246 with six home runs, 24 RBIs, 24 walks and a .389 on-base percentage in 35 games.

The former Cook Inlet Conference MVP is entering his senior season at Brown University.
