The power surge continued for Anchorage’s Jonny Homza, who smacked his second home run in his last 10 at-bats for the San Diego Padres minor-league team in the Arizona League.

The 19-year-old now has three home runs on the season, all coming since July 11.

Homza crushed a two-run home run in the first inning and finished 2-for-5, with his five total bases being a season high.

It was the eighth time in 39 games that the catcher drove in two RBIs or more.

Homza, of South High fame, is currently the only Alaskan playing pro baseball. Tulsa Drillers Double-A pitcher Dylan Baker of Juneau is on the DL at this time.
