His team was down 30 points, but that didn’t stop University of Idaho football player Ed Hall of Eagle River from treating the closing moments like the game was on the line.

There he was late in the fourth quarter, making a stop on fourth down to get the ball back to the Vandals, who scored in the final minute of a 44-21 loss to the University of California Davis.

The starting team captain always plays hard. He doesn’t rely on a scoreboard for motivation.

Hall, of Eagle River High fame, finished with a game-high 12 tackles, including six solo and two for loss. He also broke up a pass in coverage.

The senior linebacker now has 204 tackles in 40 career games.
