Ostrander picks up sixth career win at Seattle’s Sundodger
When it comes to starting the cross-country running season, her will to win is right on time.
The Boise State University junior All-American was victorious in the first race for the third time of her star-studded career after breaking the tape at the Sundodger Invitational in Seattle, Washington.
Ostrander, of Kenai High fame, clocked a 6-K time of 20:21 to beat teammate Clare O’Brien by almost four seconds. Ostrander beat third place by 10 seconds and fourth place by 30 seconds.
The Boise State women won the team title in a meet that featured Pac-12 schools Washington, Oregon State in addition to Seattle and Trinity Western.
The individual win was the sixth career for Ostrander.
In terms of season openers, she won the Golden Gate Park dual with San Francisco in 2015 and the Greater Louisville Classic in Kentucky in 2015. She sat out 2016 as a medical redshirt.
