Anchorage’s Talon Stanley proved to be the ultimate table setter for the Colorado School of Mines men’s soccer team in a 5-0 win over Cal State East Bay in NCAA D2 action in Hayward, California.

In just the ninth minute the sophomore midfielder turned the match on its head with back-to-back assists in an 81-second span to put the Mines in control.

He assisted on the first goal at the 9:57 mark and the second at 11:18. Those were the first two points for the Alaskan in four matches.

Stanley, of South High fame, finished with two goals and assist in 20 games last season.

As a junior in high school, he was named Alaska Gatorade Player of the Year.

Stanley currently ranks sixth on the Mines team in minutes played (278). Anchorage’s Greyson Adams is 14th at 164.
