Charlie cans career-high 23 points, five 3s for Skagit Valley
Kiah Charlie of Scammon Bay had the best game of her college career with a 23-point performance for Skagit Valley College in an 80-77 loss in the NWAC to Everett College near Seattle, Washington.
The former Alaska Class 1A player of the year knocked down a career-best five 3-pointers and also enjoyed career highs in minutes (30) and rebounds (4).
Charlie, of Scammon Bay High fame, was the first person from her Western Alaska village to receive a college basketball scholarship.
The 5-foot-4 sophomore guard is averaging 10.7 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.7 rebounds per game in 9 appearances.
She has made two or more 3-pointers in six straight games and has made 21-of-68 shots from long range on the season.
Charlie has compiled more points this season (96) as she did as a freshman (93) in five fewer games.
