Anchorage’s Devonaire Doutrive doesn’t always get a chance to play extended minutes for the University of Arizona, so when his number was called in a lopsided loss he stepped up.

Cleanup duties might cause some guys to pout, but Doutrive pounced on the opportunity and delivered his first double-double in the Pac-12.

The 6-foot-5 freshman guard recorded season highs of 10 points and 11 rebounds in a 69-55 loss to Washington State in Tucson, Arizona.

Doutrive, of West High fame, played 19 minutes, grabbed seven offensive rebounds, made two steals and handed off one assist.

He also got to the free-throw line eight times, converting half of his attempts.

Doutrive is averaging 2.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 0.5 assists per game in 19 appearances.
