Griffin has 24 points, 23 rebounds in Game 2 of Aussie finals
Kelsey Griffin’s monster double-double was overshadowed by a buzzer-beater as the Adelaide Lightning shocked the Canberra Capitals 74-73 in Game 2 to stay alive in the best-of-3 WNBL grand finals.
The Eagle River native was poised to give Canberra its first title since 2010 with a 24-point, 23-rebound performance.
But Adelaide scored the winning basket at the buzzer to tie the series and force a winner-take-all Game 3 Saturday.
Griffin, of Chugiak High fame, has 22 points and 12 points in a Game 1 win and is a candidate to claim series MVP for the third time in her seven-year career in Australia.
The 6-foot-2 forward powered the Bendigo Spirit to back-to-back WNBL championships in 2014 and 2013.
