Calloway’s 15 points help SUU advance in Big Sky Tournament

Juneau’s Jacob Calloway pumped in 12 of his 15 points in the second half to help Southern Utah University beat Idaho State 94-80 in the first round of the Big Sky Tournament in Boise, Idaho.

The 6-foot-8 junior forward canned a 3-pointer with 14:48 to give the T-birds the lead for good at 54-52.

Calloway, of Thunder Mountain High fame, finished 3-for-3 from downtown to raise his season 3-point percentage to a career high .391.

This was his 15th double-figure scoring game in 29 games.

Southern Utah has now won a first-round game the Big Sky Tournament for each of the last three seasons.
