Doutrive saves Arizona with heads-up, heroic game-winning shot
When he didn’t get the ball on the last shot, Anchorage’s Devonaire Doutrive did the next best thing. He crashed the boards.
Doutrive’s heads-up thinking led to his heroic game-winning shot that led Arizona to a dramatic 74-72 Pac-12 win over Oregon State in Corvallis, Oregon.
The 6-foot-5 freshman guard followed his teammate’s shot and was in the right place at the right time, grabbing the offensive rebound with two hands before dropping in a one-handed putback to beat the buzzer and the Beavers.
It was a textbook play in creating an opportunity rather than waiting for it to happen.

Doutrive, of West High fame, finished with nine points on 4-for-4 shooting and added five rebounds in 15 minutes.
The Alaskan has really picked up his game in Pac-12 play, earning his first double-double against Washington State and his first game winner against Oregon State.
In fact, over his last seven Pac-12 appearances, he has as game-winners as he does turnovers. He takes care of the ball, and he takes care of business.
Doutrive has also been pivotal in helping the Wildcats put together their first three-game winning streak since early January. He has averaged 15.3 minutes, 6.7 points and 4.3 rebounds per game over that stretch.
