Hebard is third Alaska woman to score 1,700 NCAA D1 points
University of Oregon junior Ruthy Hebard of Fairbanks torched UCLA for 28 points on 13-of-18 shooting in the Pac-12 Tournament semifinals in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The 6-foot-4 forward added 12 rebounds to complete her second straight double-double and 12th in 31 games this season. She is shooting 72 percent in both tournament games.
The 28 points was her second-highest scoring total, trailing only the 34 points she scored against Washington State in January.
She is averaging 16.5 points on .690 field-goal shooting and 9.1 rebounds per game.
Hebard, of West Valley High fame, now has 1,713 career points – the third-most among Alaska woman playing NCAA D1 hoops.
