From Kazakhstan to K-Wings, Sorenson shines in ECHL return
A return to the ECHL has done wonders for Tanner Sorenson’s game as the 26-year-old forward from Anchorage is thriving in his second stint with the Kalamazoo Wings.
After spending all of last season in Kazakhstan and the start of this season in Switzerland, he has come back to where he has played 184 of his 240 professional games.
This time, though, Sorenson is playing like a different guy.
He was good before, but he’s been great this season with career-high totals in goals, points and assists to help the K-Wings clinch an ECHL playoff berth.
Sorenson’s 21 goals are second on his team, his 42 assists rank seventh in the league and he is tied for 13th in the ECHL with 63 points in 53 games.
