Waite scores second winning goal for Southern Oregon this year

When Southern Oregon University needed to convert a penalty kick, they knew exactly who to call on.

The senior midfielder/forward cashed in on a penalty shot in the 84th minute to lift the Raiders to a 1-0 win over Sonoma State in Turlock, California.

It was the NAIA team’s first win over a NCAA D2 opponent since 2012.

Waite, of Service High fame, has scored two game-winning goals this season and assisted on another.

She has recorded points in four of five games and ranks second on the team with six points.
