August 25, 2009

In case you haven’t noticed, Jessica Moore is having a career year in the WNBA.

This is the fifth season of pro ball for the Palmer product and she’s making the most of her situation with her new team, the first-place Indiana Fever. Moore’s breakout season is a big reason why her team leads the league with 19 wins.

Moore, 27, has always been a winner. She won three NCAA championships with the University of Connecticut and two Class 4A Alaska state titles with Colony High.

But her individual accolades usually have taken a backseat to her team’s achievements. Now her statistics are finally drawing some attention.

Just check out the numbers for the 6-foot-3 center over 23 games. Here is a breakdown of just how much she has improved, with this year’s stats compared to her career high in five major categories:

Minutes 20.5/19.3
Points 4.9/4.3
Rebounds 3.3/3.1
