Kuper injured, Bowman DNP (Football)

August 31, 2009

If you tuned into Sunday Night Football hoping to catch Alaskans Chris Kuper and Zack Bowman showcase their NFL skills, you didn’t see much.

Kuper, a starting offensive lineman with the Denver Broncos, left early in the first quarter when he was helped off the field after injuring his ankle.

Bowman, meanwhile, didn’t even play. The cornerback with the Chicago Bears was expected to return to action after coming back to practice earlier in the week from a hamstring injury.

Kuper seemed to be favoring his right foot as he was coming off the field. It’s being called a high ankle sprain, meaning he shouldn’t be out long.

The Broncos can only hope Kuper doesn’t miss any time in the regular season. Last year the Dimond High product was the only starting guard in the NFL to play in all 16 games and not allow a sack.
