Evans’ fight cancelled (Mixed Martial Arts)

Anchorage’s Doug Evans was supposed to fight Brazilian Marcelo Giudici as part of Saturday night’s Aggression MMA at the Edmonton Expo Centre.

But the fight was cancelled after Giudici failed to pass a physical before Saturday’s scheduled bout. The Brazilian made weight Friday was wasn’t checked out by physicians until Saturday.

It was one of three fights cancelled at the Canadian event. No word on a makeup date.

Evans, an Alaska Fighting Championship veteran and a member of the AK Wolfpack, has an 8-5 career record in professional mixed martial arts.

The 29-year-old Alaskan had won his last two fights and three of his last four, all by submission.
