When Daniel Hardy of Anchorage signed with the University of Idaho, he probably envisioned good times like this.

Fresh off one of its best seasons in school history, Idaho accepted its first bowl invitation since 1998 after agreeing to participate in the Humanitarian Bowl.

The Vandals of the WAC will play Bowling Green University of the MAC on Dec. 30 on the smurf turf in Boise, Idaho. The game kicks off at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN.

Both teams have 7-5 records, but they took different paths to get there.

Idaho started 6-1 and finished 1-4.

Bowling Green started 1-4 and finished 6-1.

Hardy, a 6-foot-4 junior tight end, has hauled in a career-high 38 receptions, 674 yards and 3 TDs this season.
