Harris returns to starting lineup (Basketball)

Ramon Harris has regained his scoring touch—and his starting job.
The University of Kentucky senior forward started tonight for the first time this season and chipped in 7 points in No. 3 Kentucky’s 104-61 whitewashing of visiting Hartford. The 6-foot-7 Alaskan made both field goals, including a 3-pointer, and sank 2 of 3 free throws in 22 minutes.
Harris, of West High fame, has scored 23 points over his last three games after netting only 20 in the first 11. He is averaging 3.1 points and 3.8 rebounds in 16.9 minutes per game.
The Wildcats are a perfect 14-0.
Harris had started mostly every game over the last two seasons until new coach John Calipari came to Lexington with a bunch of hired guns, moving him to the bench.
Rather than pout he pounced on the opportunity to be a sparkplug with the second unit, earning a reputation for doing the little things when it came to defense, rebounding and effort.
That’s probably what earned him back his starting job.
The scoring spree is a bonus.
