Kielpinski playing well in Denmark (Basketball)

December 11, 2009

Former UAA All-American Rebecca Kielpinski is enjoying a remarkable rookie season in her first year as a professional in the Denmark first division.

The 6-foot-2 center ranks fifth in the league in scoring (15), third in rebounding (10) and second in shot blocking (1.1).

Unfortunately for her, though, her individual success hasn’t carried over to the team.

Lemvig of the Danish Dameligaen—the country’s top league—has struggled to a 3-6 record, falling to eighth place in the nine-team league. That’s already more losses than she had all of last season with the Seawolves (31-4).

Earlier this week, Kielpinski came off the bench to deliver a team-high 19 points and 12 rebounds in a 65-64 defeat to the first-place team.
