Not even a snowstorm could cool down Talisa Rhea.

The Oregon State sharpshooter netted 19 points Tuesday night to lead Oregon State University to a 58-49 road win over Portland State.

The women’s game was originally scheduled to be the nightcap of a doubleheader featuring the Portland State and Willamette men’s teams. But Willamette was late to arrive because of heavy snow, moving the women’s game to the opening act.

Nothing could throw off Rhea, though.

With her team clinging to a 44-37 cushion with 2:30 left, the 5-foot-11 Alaskan pumped in 12 of her team’s final 14 points and assisted on the other bucket to single-handedly deliver the victory.

She drained a jumper and a 3-pointer in the closing moments before making 7 of 8 free throws down the stretch, including seven straight inside the final 52 seconds.

Rhea, of Juneau fame, added 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 2 steals in playing 39 minutes.

She leads the Beavers (8-2) in scoring at 14.8 points per game.
