Lowe fighting for PT at RIT (Basketball)
As an all-state playmaker at Service High, Marcus Lowe didn’t have to worry about playing time. He was the primary ballhandler who played virtually every minute of every game.
Now he’s a sophomore at Rochester Institute of Technology in New York.
And college is an entirely different ballgame.
Take Saturday’s game for example. Lowe was among 17 players to see the court in a 99-76 loss to No. 4 Roberts Wesley in the third-place game of the Wendy’s College Classic in Rochester.
Lowe, a 5-foot-8 guard who has started eight of 12 games, handed off four assists and snared two rebounds in 17 minutes of action.
The Alaskan is averaging 4.3 points, 3.3 assists and 2.9 rebounds in 26.2 minutes per game for the NCAA Division III Tigers (4-8).
