Lowe helps RIT avoid basement (Basketball)
Anchorage’s Marcus Lowe did everything he could Tuesday to help Rochester Institute of Technology stay out of the basement in the Empire 8 standings.
Lowe, of Service High fame, chipped in six points, four rebounds, three steals and an assist to help RIT pull away from Alfred University 58-45 on the road.
The NCAA Division III Tigers (10-6) moved up to sixth in the nine-team league, one game back of fifth.
Lowe, a 5-foot-8 sophomore guard, has an impressive 3-1 assist-to-turnover ratio and is the only player on the RIT roster to rank in the top five in minutes (25.0), free-throw percentage (.850), points (5.1), rebounds (3.0) and assists (2.8).
