Miami, Bullock no longer astronauts (Basketball)
After getting off to the best start in school history, the University of Miami has come back to earth.
The 25th-ranked ‘Canes dropped a 69-62 decision Thursday to No. 7 Duke in Coral Gables, falling to 13-3 on the season after an 8-0 start.
Anchorage’s Sylvia Bullock grabbed seven rebounds, scored four points and made two steals in 24 minutes of action. It’s the most rebounds she’s had in five games.
The 6-foot-2 sophomore starting forward ranks fourth on the team in rebounds (5.7), with nearly half (41) of her total (91) coming on the offensive end.
She is also averaging 4.0 points, 1.5 blocked shots, 1.1 assists and 1.1 steals in 24.6 minutes per game.
