Nebraska keeps good times rolling (Basketball)
Baylor’s Brittney Griner gets the pub.
Nebraska’s Kelsey Griffin just gets it done.
Griffin, of Chugiak High fame, delivered yet another double-double Sunday with 13 points and 12 rebounds to help the No. 11 Huskers upset No. 9 Baylor 65-54 on FSN.
Griner, the 6-foot-8 freshman known as a dunking sensation, limited the production of the 6-foot-2 Griffin, a senior All-American candidate and two-time First Team All-Big 12 selection.
The Alaskan got the last laugh, however, as the Huskers ended the game on a 17-6 run to seal the deal.
“Our experience was the different down the stretch,” Griffin told reporters.
The win extended Nebraska’s school-record winning streak to 16 games and snapped Baylor’s 14-game home winning streak.
Griner finished with 18 points, nine rebounds and six blocked shots.
“That was a great win for us,” Griffin said. “Obviously Baylor is a great program and they have some amazing athletes and players.”
