Griffin finishes fast in NCAA win (Basketball)
March 21, 2010

What a difference a year makes for the University of Nebraska women’s basketball team.
At this time last year they were watching the NCAA Tournament on ESPN after a 15-16 season not even worthy of the WNIT.
Now the Huskers are top-seeded juggernauts in the Kansas City Regional and this afternoon they advanced to the second round with a commanding 83-44 victory over Northern Iowa.
Not even a slow start by superstar Kelsey Griffin of Eagle River could slow down Nebraska.
Griffin, of Chugiak High fame, finished with 22 points and nine rebounds as the Huskers moved to 31-1.
The 6-foot-2 Alaskan did the majority of her damage in the second half when Nebraska outscored Northern Iowa 43-17.
The Huskers will play in the Round of 32 Tuesday.
