Griffin inches closer to Final Four (Basketball)

Eagle River double-double machine Kelsey Griffin delivered again to lead the University of Nebraska into the women’s Sweet 16 for the first time in program history.
Griffin, a 6-foot-2 senior Wade Trophy finalist and likely All-American, scored 18 points and ripped down 14 rebounds as the No. 1 seeded Huskers knocked off upset-minded UCLA 83-70 in the Kansas City Regional.
The Alaskan didn’t have her greatest shooting night—going 5 of 12 from the floor and 8 of 14 from the line—but then again the eighth-seeded Bruins won 25 games this season so they are no joke.
Yet Nebraska did what it takes to move on and continue its incredible season that includes 32 victories in 33 games.
The Huskers will play No. 4 seed Kentucky on Sunday in Kansas City, Mo.
