Ramon Harris

After Ramon Harris of Anchorage played his final game with the University of Kentucky at the NCAA Tournament in March, he talked about not wanting to take off his No. 5 jersey because he knew he would never wear it again.

Turns out he was wrong.

Harris, of West High fame, will participate in the school’s barnstorming tour that will see seniors on the basketball team travel to difference gyms around the Commonwealth state and give fans that can’t come to campus an up-close and personal Kentucky experience.

The Kentucky seniors expected to participate are Harris, Perry Stevenson and Mark Krebs. Junior star Patrick Patterson, who recently announced his plans to enter the NBA draft, will probably play as well. No word on whether fab freshmen John Wall and DeMarcus Cousins will suit up.

Harris is the only Alaskan to play hoops at the NCAA’s most storied program

The 6-foot-7 forward played in 106 career games, starting 55 of them and winning 70 percent of them.
