Alaskans do their part in WNBA wins (Basketball)
Eagle River’s Kelsey Griffin delivered double figures for the first time in her first WNBA start today as the Connecticut Sun beat Washington 80-65.
The 6-foot-2 rookie forward scored 11 points on 4-of-6 shooting. She made one 3-pointer and a pair of free throws in 20 minutes.
The former University of Nebraska All-American added six rebounds and one assist. She committed four fouls, coming dangerously close to fouling out for the first time.
In Indiana, Palmer’s Jessica Moore came off the bench to contribute four points and three rebounds in 16 minutes in a 69-61 win over Chicago.
The 6-foot-3 forward/center is in her sixth season in the WNBA after winning three NCAA championships at the University of Connecticut.
