Clarke punches ticket to Nationals (Track)
May 29, 2010

Anchorage’s Jordan Clarke is officially next in line when it comes to being the next great shot putter at Arizona State University.
Third on the team behind two seniors, the redshirt freshman joined his older counterparts by qualifying for the NCAA Division I Track and Field Championships based on his fifth-place finish at the Preliminary Round West Meet in Austin, Texas.
Clarke, of Bartlett High fame, finished with a mark of 59 feet, 10½ inches, well shy of his season best (60-10½).
ASU teammates Ryan Whiting (first, 71-7½) and Jason Lewis (third, 60-3) led the way.
All three men will also compete in the discus for a shot at Nationals.
