Clarke second at Pac-10 Championships (Track)

Arizona State University freshman Jordan Clarke of Anchorage came pretty close to winning a conference title today, placing second in the men’s shot put at the Pac-10 Championships in Berkley, Calif.
Clarke, of Bartlett High fame, had a mark of 60 feet, ¼ inches, a foot behind winner and teammate Ryan Whiting. His NCAA outdoor season best this year is 60-10½.
He also placed ninth in the discus at 175-6.
Earlier this season the 6-foot-4 Alaskan moved into the ASU top 10 on the men’s all-time list, ranking sixth in the hammer (199-6) and 10th in the discus (185-1).
