Just a freshman, Jordan Clarke of Anchorage is already leaving his mark on the Arizona State University track and field program.

The 6-foot-4 Alaskan moved into the top 10 on the men’s all-time list, including sixth in the hammer (199-6) and 10th in the discus (185-1).

Clarke, of Bartlett High fame, is also a standout in the shot put. Last summer, he won a silver medal at the Pan-American Junior Championships in Trinidad with a toss of 65-6 ¼.

The Arizona State men are ranked sixth nationally going into the 80th annual Pac-10 Championships this weekend in Berkley.
