Healthy and hungry, Brad Oleson of North Pole is logging significant playing time again.

Oleson, of UAF fame, returned months ago from a nagging ankle injury that had hounded him, but since his 27th birthday on April 11 he has picked up his game.

He started to find his rhythm at the end of the Euroleague playoffs and it looks like he found his groove in the Spanish League.

The 27-year-old guard with European power Caja Laboral is averaging 19.1 minutes, 5.1 points, 3.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game over the last six games. In one game he delivered eight rebounds and six assists.

His productive play in those six games helped Caja Laboral go 5-1 down the stretch to secure second place in the final league standings. The only loss of late came Sunday in the regular-season finale, with the No. 2 seed already determined.

The Spanish League playoffs begin this week with quarterfinal play. Caja Laboral (27-7) faces seventh-seed Estudiantes (19-15) in the best-of-3 series beginning Friday.
