Way picks up first win of season (Baseball)
May 8, 2010

After struggling mightily in his first five starts, Sitka left-handed Matt Way finally got on track.
The second-year pitcher for the Lakewood Blue Claws, a single-A affiliate with the Philadelphia Phillies, enjoyed his first strong outing of the season in Friday’s 3-1 win.
Way, of Washington State University fame, dominated for 7 2/3 innings, striking out 10 and allowing just five hits and one run. He improved his record to 1-3.
The Alaskan entered the day with a just-add-kerosene 6.84 ERA.
Last year as a rookie, Way posted a 6-4 record and 2.40 ERA in 75 innings.
