Madden continues to shine for Jupiter (Baseball)
The Jupiter Hammerheads continue to struggle in the Class A Advanced Florida State League.
But it’s no fault of Corey Madden’s.
The Anchorage relief pitcher has been one of the lone bright spots on the last-place team, giving up just one earned run in his last 14 innings out of the bullpen.
Madden, of East High fame, has a 1-2 record with four saves and a 3.86 ERA in 22 games this season.
He threw 2 1/3 innings of shutout relief in tonight’s 3-2 road loss to Bradenton in 11 innings. Madden pitched in the eighth, ninth and tenth frames.
The 6-foot-1 right hander has been lights out over the past month, flashing a sparking 0.64 ERA in his last 10 appearances.
