Juneau’s Kellen Moen wasn’t even born the last time the University of Oregon baseball team qualified for the postseason.

But he’s going along for the ride this time.

Moen, of El Camino College fame, is a junior relief pitcher for the Ducks (38-22), who earned an at-large berth to the 64-team NCAA Tournament. They will play in the Norwich Regional hosted by the University of Connecticut.

Oregon, which reinstated its baseball program in 2009 after 28 years, heads to the postseason for the first time since 1964.

Moen, a 6-foot-2 right-hander, has appeared in three games and pitched 5 1/3 innings. He has a sparkling 1.69 ERA and a strikeout-to-walk ratio of 3 to 1.

At El Camino College, he was named South Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year in 2009 after going 5-2 with a 1.69 ERA in 64 innings, including four complete-game efforts. He was 8-2 with a 2.74 ERA as a freshman.
