Chalmers eyes title with Heat (Basketball)
Mario Chalmers of Anchorage is back in Lawrence, Kan., with his old college teammates to celebrate the NCAA title the University of Kansas won in 2008.
Admiring that championship will surely get him thinking about winning one in the NBA, especially with all the new faces on the Miami Heat.
“I wouldn’t say it’s guaranteed, but it puts me in a good chance to get one,” Chalmers told reporters.
“As a young player you look to players like LeBron, Dwyane and Kobe to be on your team. To get to play with two of the three is great.”
Chalmers, of Bartlett High fame, is entering his third season in the league.
“This is going to be different. It’s like we’re starting all over,” he said. “We have a new team and new energy.”
