Way promoted, drops first start (Baseball)
July 7, 2010

The good news for Sitka’s Matt Way is that he was finally bumped up to the Class A Advanced Florida State League in the Phillies farm system.
The bad news was that he got hit around pretty good in his first start with his new team, the Clearwater Threshers.
Way, of Washington State University fame, gave up five hits and three runs in four innings. Clearwater lost 11-1.
Before his promotion, the southpaw starter was having a career year with the Class A Lakewood BlueClaws, where he went 7-4 with 3.65 ERA in 15 games. He also had 81 strikeouts in 86 innings.
